Jack Reacher is back, and this time, he’s unraveling a conspiracy that all starts with one bad night on the New York City subway. Right now, Reacher Season 4 is filming, and the release of the show is starting to seem a bit closer to reality. But what do we really know about Reacher Season 4 at this stage? Plenty! Here’s a quick guide to Reacher Season 4, including the possible release date window, the cast, and the plot.
Because nobody has seen Reacher Season 4, there are zero major spoilers ahead, but if you’ve not read the book Gone Tomorrow, tread carefully!

For those who have read the book, there are some changes here with character names. In the novel Gone Tomorrow, the NYC detective who teams up with Jack Reacher is named “Theresa Lee.” But in the new season, she’ll be named Tamara Green and played by Sydelle Noel.
Meanwhile, Jacob Merrick is probably the TV version of Jacob Mark, who, in the book, is a cop and the brother of a woman named Susan Mark, who mysteriously commits suicide in the opening chapters. Lila Hoth’s name is the same as in the book, a beautiful, but dangerous person, who is not all that she seems. Her shifty mother is, in the book, named Svetlana Hoth and is now called Amisha Hoth in the TV series. In the book, the Hoths are posing as Russians, though that may be different in the TV version.
As of this writing, the all-important character of John Sansom, a congressman with a military background and a secret, has not been confirmed to be in this season, nor is it clear who would play him.
Reacher Season 4 Plot
Reacher Season 4 is based on the 2009 Lee Child novel Gone Tomorrow, which was the 13th Reacher book overall. The story is centered on Reacher trying to unravel the mystery of a woman who killed herself in front of him on the NYC subway. In the opening pages, Reacher incorrectly believed she was a terrorist bomber. As the adventure unspools, Reacher goes up against undercover terrorists, teams up with local cops, all while navigating the concrete jungle of New York City. Alan Ritchson has told Men’s Journalthat Season 4 is a “labyrinth of fights.”
Most seasons of Reacher have been faithful adaptations of the book upon which each was based. That said, each season has made several changes to accommodate the TV format. For example, in Season 3, the character of Paulie (Olivier Richters) was altered slightly, the character of Elizabeth Beck was eliminated, and Reacher’s pal Frances Neagley (Maria Sten) was brought into the action, even though she’s not in that particular book, the 2003 book Persuader.
So, we can expect Gone Tomorrow to make some changes to the basic plot. But the presence of the mysterious Hoths, and the NYC setting make it seem like this one, like previous Reacher seasons, will take quite a bit from the twisty book.
Reacher Season 4 Release Date Window
Prime Video has not yet announced when Reacher Season 4 will be released. But, because the show is currently filming, it’s a good bet it will hit sometime in early 2026. That said, the spinoff series Neagley is also expected next year, and will likely debut before Reacher Season 4.
