When is Emmerdale on as episode is dropped after huge cliffhanger?

A huge cliffhanger aired in last night’s episode of Emmerdale – and we can’t even tune in to ITV later to see what happens next!

The epic scenes focused on John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley). Aaron had discovered the truth about John, and was trying to talk him into revealing the location of Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb).

The instalment ended with John throwing himself and Aaron off a gorge, much to Robert’s horror. Unfortunately, rushing to ITVX for an update on the trio will prove fruitless, as Emmerdale’s next episode currently isn’t available.

Here’s everything you need to know about this week’s schedule for the soap.

When is Emmerdale on this week?

Emmerdale won’t be airing tonight, due to coverage of the European Qualifier.

Fortunately, Tuesday will be the only day impacted by sports this week, as Emmerdale will air in the usual places of 7:30pm on Wednesday and Friday, and 7:30pm on Thursday for an hour.

What happened in Emmerdale yesterday?

Following on from last Friday’s episode, Aaron desperately tried to escape from John’s clutches. His plan to race home to Emmerdale via the van failed when John appeared and ushered him back inside.

John handed his husband some more drugged water and encouraged him to rest in bed. As soon as John headed out to run an ‘errand’, Aaron forced himself to throw the water back up, and ran into the woods.

His plan was to try and find the bunker he had briefly seen on Friday. He had an inkling that Mackenzie was inside, but couldn’t find the entrance this time.

Aaron was found by John, sparking a showdown between them right near a gorge. John revealed everything to Aaron, including that he killed Nate and what really happened to Mackenzie.

Aaron continued to convince John that they could get through everything together – he knew this was exactly what John wanted and used it to his advantage.

Aaron was incredibly on edge throughout though (literally and metaphorically) as he knew one wrong move, one tiny reaction taken the other way, could change everything.

After getting knocked out by his brother, Robert burst onto the scene and startled John, just as he was about to call the police. To John, it looked as though Aaron and Robert had conspired against him – everything that John had just said no longer mattered.

Aaron hoped that he could still help, but even his words weren’t enough. John pulled out his phone, called the police, but told the person on the other end that his husband’s ex had just turned up and was threatening to kill them.

John then grabbed Aaron and jumped off the gorge. The episode ended with Robert screaming Aaron’s name, not knowing is his ex or distant brother were actually alive.

The small amount of information already released about the aftermath allows us to know Robert will get questioned by the police about the events, but whether he’ll be able to convince them that it was all John’s doing is another thing entirely.

We also know that Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) will relay his concerns aboutJohn to Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins). They decide to race over to the cottage to try and find John and Aaron, but what will they find when they get there?

You’ll have to tune into Wednesday’s episode to find out.
