Will Smith’s Famous TV Mansion Is about to Hit the Market – Bundlezy

Will Smith’s Famous TV Mansion Is about to Hit the Market

“Now this is a story all about how” one of the most recognizable homes of the 90s is about to hit the open market. According to the luxury real estate agency, The Altman Brothers, the home seen in The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is being primed for sale and is sure to cost a pretty penny (well, lots and lots of pennes).

In the fall of 1990, when Will Smith first debuted as the fictional character Will Smith on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, millions of viewers instantly fell in love with the cool and free-spirited nephew from Philadelphia, who was forced to take up residence with his Uncle Phil (James Avery) and Aunt Viv (Janet Hubert). People laughed at all of Will’s antics, the responses from his uncle, the iconic dance moves of Carlton (Alfonso Ribeiro), and the timely insults from Geoffrey (Joseph Marcell). And while all the characters left a lasting impression on TV history, so did the unofficial other main member of the cast, the white-columned estate.

Again, the estate hasn’t officially been listed. The Altman Brothers agency is preparing to list it, and the co-owner of the agency, Josh Altman, said the following in his Instagram announcement of this major move:

“One of the most iconic homes in Los Angeles is about to hit the market.

“For the first time in decades, the original exterior façade of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, a globally recognized Georgian Colonial estate, will be offered for sale. (AND BELIEVE IT OR NOT, IT’S IN BRENTWOOD NOT BEL AIR)

“Located at 251 N Bristol Ave on the most coveted street in Brentwood Park, this legendary residence was built in 1937 and sits on an extraordinary 38,510 sq ft corner lot. Instantly recognizable around the world, the home has stood as one of the most famous exteriors in television history, while remaining one of the neighborhood’s most prestigious addresses.”

Oh, and that’s right. Despite many fans (me included) believing the actual mansion was located in Bel Air, that turns out not to be the case. Although, both Bel Air and Brentwood are in neighborhoods in Los Angeles.

‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ Estate Is Currently in Use

According to TMZ, the home is currently being used for a Netflix series. As of publication, there’s no word on when production of the series wraps, and if production may hold up the sale of the estate. By the way, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air can currently be streamed on Hulu and Disney+.
