A woman trapped in her home after an operation said she has been left ‘looking at a blank wall all day’ after her TV stopped working.

Carla Haughton’s mobility was restricted after receiving an operation which left her ‘unable to go out’ during her recovery.

The 60-year-old rents her home on First Avenue in Crosby, Liverpool, for £101 per week which includes a service charge which covers the cost of the television.

But she was left ‘frustrated’ after her TV stopped working and she reported the issue ‘multiple times’ to no avail.

Carla rents her flat through One Vision Housing and says two of her neighbours in the same block of flats have been having the same problem, leaving them without television service.

She explained: ‘Me and my neighbours have been phoning One Vision for weeks asking for it to be fixed but they keep saying they are waiting for another company to come back to them.

‘We are paying rent to them every week, we pay to have a TV in our flat but we’re not allowed to watch them because they aren’t working.

‘I also pay for a TV licence, but why am I paying for something that I can’t use? It’s frustrating.

‘I’m unable to go out, I have a walking stick, it’s very lonely having to sit and look at a blank wall all day, I’ve been having to listen to a radio.

‘It’s beyond a joke, it’s been going on for weeks. It’s just annoying.’

One Vision says the repair job was raised with them on August 15, and the issue was fixed six days later.

A spokesperson said: ‘One Vision Housing’s approved subcontractor completed the specialist works on August 22, following an initial repair job raised on August 15.

“Following the successful completion of works, no further reports have been raised surrounding this matter.

‘Our Neighbourhood Services Officers are in contact with customers involved.’
