WWE Icon Pulls Out of Multiple Events as He Battles Health Issues

WWE legend Jerry “The King” Lawler has reportedly pulled out of numerous upcoming events due to recent health issues.

PWInsider recently reported that the WWE Hall of Famer was supposed to make several conventions and signing appearances, including at Horror Hound Weekend, but has since pulled out of the events due to “personal reasons.”

The “personal reasons,” PWInsider later revealed, stemmed from his need to focus on his health issues.

Lawler, 75, has battled several health issues over the years.

He suffered a scary episode in September 2012 after his WWE Raw match held in Montreal, Canada, where he and partner, Randy Orton, beat CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler.

After winning the match, Lawler joined play-by-play man Michael Cole for a ringside interview when the unthinkable occurred: Lawler suffered a heart attack live on the air.

Viewers were none the wiser because the cameras and Cole were focused on the next match happening in the ring. But WWE produced a segment detailing what exactly happened on the night Lawler suffered a heart attack.

Lawler, who at first was snoring during the broadcast, fell out of his chair before a production ringside assistant caught him. A ringside doctor immediately figured out Lawler was in the midst of a heart attack.

Then, in 2023, Lawler suffered a stroke, which affected his speech. The following year, Lawler underwent a knee replacement.
