The Ukrainian President announced this Monday that he had instructed the country’s military leadership to expand the geographic range of long-range attacks, to intensify pressure on the Russian rear.
“We set ourselves the task of expanding the geography of the use of our long-range capabilities,” Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on social media after a meeting with Ukraine’s top defense officials.
Zelensky said that the meeting served to evaluate the results of operations carried out in recent weeks, conducted almost every night with Ukrainian-made drones and, in some cases, with medium-range missiles.
“Russian oil refining is already paying a tangible price for the war and will pay even more,” he said, referring to recent Ukrainian attacks on energy infrastructure inside Russia.
The Ukrainian leader added that the Government is negotiating long-term contracts with arms companies to ensure “greater predictability in the allocation of resources” and “a sustained increase in military production”.
